WindPath Sailing - San Francisco Training

Sailing can be a relaxing, challenging and rewarding sport, but if conditions get ugly or there is an emergency on the water we want to ensure all our Members have the skills and confidence to handle it safely. We recognize that learning to sail is not a day or weekend course. Sailing and good seamanship are a compilation of skills, techniques and confidence built up over time through experience.

No experience? No problem. For beginners or those wishing to refresh their skills WindPath Sailing - San Francisco offers a comprehensive, nationally accredited training program that will give you the skills and confidence to safely pilot your yacht in almost any condition. Do not be dissuaded by the fact that you don't know how to sail; learning to sail with WindPath Sailing - San Francisco is a fun and rewarding experience that anyone can do.

All training fees are included in your up front cost. WindPath Sailing - San Francisco staff will work with you until you are comfortable piloting your yacht safely on your own, for no additional charge.

The following will be provided by WindPath Sailing - San Francisco staff on your yacht:

  • A boat systems review for the yacht you will be sailing
  • A local waterway review to ensure you are familiar with local navigation hazards
  • A docking course
  • Yacht safety equipment and procedures review

If you are an experienced sailor who feels confident piloting a yacht safely on your own, and can demonstrate this to WindPath Sailing - San Francisco staff, you are not required to participate in a training program, and may be eligible for a discount on your initiation fees.

Tuition for one person to attend a course is included in your initiation fee.
